However, with the ongoing problem of agricultural runoff from many different farms in a given watershed and the resulting “dead zone” in the Gulf of Mexico caused by nonpoint source runoff via the Mississippi River, the public is slowly waking up to the value of ecologically sound methods to reduce this type of pollution.
