Just saw this EPA blog mentioned on Twitter. Thought I would add a suggestion that the EPA get serious about the environmental, health, and cost impacts of light pollution. The effects are just as damaging as air and water pollution. The EPA should not be ignoring light pollution. Based on the lack of light pollution coverage on the EPA web site, they are ignoring this serious problem.

Great advice! For people spending long periods of time outside in the summer, ozone pollution is one of the major concerns. This chart shows the health concerns for different pollutants: http://www.epa.gov/aircompare/health.htm

EPA research is working to learn more about the cardiovascular effects of air pollution ( http://www.epa.gov/airscience/air-cardiovascular.htm ) and to support air quality standards ( http://www.epa.gov/airscience/air-airqualitystandards.htm )

I encourage everyone to check out the EPA's air quality index - as an avid outdoorsman I check it every time I'm about to spend a long amount of time in the sun!
