Most stories about environmental justice relate to far-off places like Nigeria and the issue there with Shell extracting their oil and not giving back to the country, so it’s good to hear about stories on the home front.

There’s no force stronger than an engaged citizenship working together on an issue that they believe in. This is one fine example of that. And it’s a good thing for environmentalists since the connection to health and the environment is strongly linked. When people’s health is on the line, action is swift, and the environment benefits as a result.
