How may I participate in the conversation?

The forum is open to the public for commenting. Comments are moderated according to our comment policy. Please note that comments will only be reviewed for posting during regular business hours (8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Eastern time). The views expressed in comments do not necessarily reflect the official views of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the federal government.

In what order do the comments appear on the forum?
Comments are added in reverse chronological order, with the newest comment at the top of the home page.

Why do you ask for my name and email address when I leave a comment? How do you protect my privacy?
Providing your name or email address is optional. We ask for your name so that it is easier to carry on a conversation, so we will publish it along with your comment. We ask for your email address so that we may contact you if necessary. We will not publish or sell your email address.

To protect yourself, please don’t include information that identifies you in the body of your comment, such as email addresses or phone numbers. We don’t edit comments, so we won’t be able to publish comments containing such information.

Beyond the issues above, we treat privacy issues associated with this forum under our privacy policy provided on EPA’s main Web site.

Can I submit comments that contain pre-published or copyrighted materials?

No. The forum complies with EPA’s policy on copyrighted materials, so we will not publish comments that contain pre-published or copyrighted materials.

Does the forum link to sites outside of EPA?

The forum will link to external sites in a manner consistent with EPA’s procedure on External Site Links.  Links to  external sites will be identified as such.

What if I have concerns about the quality and accuracy of data found on Data Finder?

Data Finder points to data sources at EPA, which comply with EPA’s Information Quality Guidelines and the federal Information Quality Act. Comments about data quality and accuracy will be referred to the owners of the data source to address the issue.

What is “Subscribe To This forum?”
You can subscribe to the forum in two ways.  The first way is to subscribe to the RSS feed of posts from this forum (Posts RSS). The second way is to subscribe to the RSS feed of comments from this forum (Comments RSS). RSS or news readers allow you to be automatically notified of new posts to this forum when you subscribe.
