“Bicycling boosts the economy, with $5.6 billion in bikes and equipment sold in 2009;
On a round-trip commute of 10 miles, bicyclists save around $10 daily;”

Unless you’re making the argument that gas dollars are going abroad, and bike dollars are staying here. Of course, car and maintenance and insurance dollars stay here too, not that I want to pay them either!
