One of the major current issues is reducing the pollution out of oil and coal power plants. One of the biggest sources of some toxic chemical discharges is the power plants. Another important issue that needs attention is the fracking process used to get at oil and natural gas and which is also causing water pollution. Ultamately, the solution is to develop a green energy infrastructure for the 21st Century. Best wishes, Michael E. Bailey.

Without the EPA our air, water, and other resources would be dirty and sparse. The idea of protecting the environment has been around for a long time, but with the sudden interest, it is a keen time to move forward in full force to do all we can do to implement necessary regulatory policy. By protecting the environment, we are also protecting our people. This is no easy task to put policy into action and have the public on board. I believe more education about why the programs are important or how they will positively impact the people is essential to have the public understand the key role the EPA plays.

Also, the children in this nation are the future and if we are able to get them to understand why protecting human health and the environment is important, then they will grow up to put practices into play. Grade school children are also fresh with innovated ideas. Engaging them in this process could bring about new ideas and educate them so they know why this is so important.

Thank you for all of your hard work and I will be celebrating Public Health Week with my co-workers.
