I too have been bitten by the “garden bug”; we found a very nice 4′ x 4′ raised bed planter at a local garden store and I can’t wait to plant some spring veggies and flowers … even though I **know** we aren’t done with winter just yet. Here in the “sunny” south, we haven’t been hit as hard as the northern half of the US, but we’ve surely had more of a winter than we usually get. Just now, it’s surprisingly warm, but still, I know better than to put out tender seedlings and transplants. However, I can and do enjoy watching the local birds who are already begining to court and pick out nest sites; their brightening colors help cheer many a gray day and add lively splashes of color all year long. Plus, they don’t need to be weeded 😉

I couldn’t be more on the same page. I am dearly hoping that Phil was right. I live in Baltimore, MD, and the warm weather this past Friday gave me hope that he was right.

I also am looking forward to the cherry blossoms this spring.

Thanks for the link to the calender.
