One good way to obtain more well qualified people from diverse populations is to continue to reachout to school children from elementary school through high school and encourage them to go on to colleges and universities after graduation. Let students in the different grades know about EPA and its mission. This could be done by sponsoring activities on campus, sponsoring community activities that include school kids, helping supply books on environment to school and public libraries. If the kids get real interested, some of them might apply to do their college internships at EPA later on. So reaching out to the college campuses is also important. And if the interns do well, they should be offered permanent jobs. Reachout to qualified members of the disability community by making offices and use of equipment more accessible. Best wishes, Michael E. Bailey.
