While there are government incentives through programs like the energy efficiency tax credits; programs. Sarah and other scouts are demonstrating a grass roots movement toward environmentally friendly living, and the trend will pay off in the long run. Great work Sarah.

My name is Linda, I’m the Youth Director of the Amala Foundation, a humanitarian service organization in Austin, Texas that works to unify communities in service and inspire youth to lead with a heart-centered global perspective. We recently learned about the beautiful work that you are doing. We are celebrating the powerful impact you are making in the world, and are inspired by your devotion to this cause. We work with youth around the world to create global peace initiatives. Every summer we hold a peace leadership conference called the Global Youth Peace Summit, and we think you’d be a great fit for this program. The Summit unites over 70 refugee, immigrant, American and international youth from over 25 + different countries for an eight day peace conference, devoted to heart-centered dialogue, authentic expression and exploration of self and world. The Summit is a sustainable peace movement that offers young people an opportunity to directly experience themselves and their world, through the eyes of equality, acceptance and compassion. The Summit challenges and inspires youth to honor differences, explore commonalities and create One Village united by values of: love, respect, honesty, community and service. With the recognition that sustainable peace begins within, the Summit is a vehicle for healing, personal growth and connection. Wanted to see if this might be something you’d be interested in being a part of. For more information, please check out our
video and website
Please feel free to contact me. Thank you for the incredible work you are doing in the world…and the WAY that you’re doing it.

Gratitude,
Linda
Youth Director, Amala Foundation

I just heard of your great work in the Sierra magazine (March/April 2011). Excellent stuff! I would like to help any way I can. Can I please confirm that you have enough solar on it (PV and thermal water) and did you use daylighting (tubular skylights)? Great job and I love the name too! I concur with Jason and it’s a great and all important book for today and our collective future.

Once this lodge has been in use for awhile, you can refine the model (if required) and spread it across the country…? :-)

Namaste,
James

To read about someone so young and her contribution to saving the planet blows my mind. I am extremely proud of the young people in our nation and their efforts of teaching and promoting the protection of our planet to future generations. When I join the Air Force I will remember the work of the young people who have dedicated so much to saving the Earth and will serve my country in their honor. I do not personally know you Sarah but you will always have a special place in my heart. Thank You so much for all that you have done! I plan on visiting this “Lorax Lodge” someday. By the way that is one of my favorite books. Thanks Again!

I’m not sure my first attempt at sending this message worked. However, I am working on an Earthday webinar that I hope to have in April of next year (this is a side project that I’ve taken on at work). The webinar is to educate elementary kids. I came across your story and I think you would be perfect. This would only take 10-15min of your time and you would not have to travel to our location. Please let me know if you would or would not be able to participate. I’ll provide my contact information upon your response or you’ll be able to find my work contact information by googleing my name…Sala Senkayi.
Thanks so much.
