I think that Green Building depends mankind culture. Somewhere, they hope like that, but they power didn’t do that. Back to the nature against their habitual. They don’t know how Green Building, what it ( because they’re homeless), where it (because they’re landless).

I hope Green Building will make masterpiece for next time better in the world. Congratulation that this idea !

Just one thing why don’t they get rid of all toxic cleaners and use non-toxic chemical free cleaning products?

I just got my LEED Green Associate credential a few days ago, so I know about the things that go into green buildings, but I have very little experience hands on with what it is like to be in a green building. I know there are some in NYC, so I think I will take your post as inspiration and go on a field trip for myself!

And I am glad more buildings are starting to be built like that. One example that just opened last spring is the new administration building for the South Orange County Landfill. It has a green roof, uses only native plants in the landscape, uses recycled water, gets power from methane gas at the landfill, makes the maximum use of natural light, and low flow plumbing fixtures. A short distance away is the Mission Viejo Library where I work. It has no green roof, but it does have the low flow automated plumbing, uses large side and ceiling windows for lighting instead of using so much electricity, uses energy efficient bulbs for the light at night. We use recycled water for the library landscaping and we have real trees growing inside the building to help purify the air. We also have nearly eliminated the use of paper and do nearly all of our operations on line and we recycle card board, books that are being discarded and are in to bad shape to go the bookstore, and paper we do denerate. We have recycling containers the public can use at various locations. And we are also a point in the city where people can bring in their used household batteries for recycling. Putting household batteries in regular recycling or in the trash is illegal in California, so we are one of a few places in the city where you can legally recycle your batteries. Best wishes, Michael E. Bailey.
