		<description><![CDATA[I agree!  I think there so many missed opportunities for us to make our students more aware of the environment and that science in all its forms (biological and physical) is at the root of everything.  
In terms of lunchtime, I would encourage your son&#039;s school to propose waste free lunches to protect the environment.  Here are some resources.

		<description><![CDATA[I agree that it&#039;s a great idea to weave science and math into learning about the environment.  My son&#039;s elementary school in McLean Virginia has an &quot;Outdoor Odyssey&quot; program.  Parent vounteers help develop and deliver the curriculum and the classes help weed, water, and harvest veggies.  I think it would be great if all schools started composting and teaching kids how to do that.  We all know how much food gets thrown out at lunchtime!]]></description>
