Telework is only one implication of this concept. Telecommunity development involves the widespread restructuring of our communities to take into account the considerable opportunities that now exist for large work forces to be electronically dispersed, with huge financial, advantage and security advantages. But to avail ourselves of these benefits it’s necessary to look beyond telework to the design of new kinds of virtual organization that are not based on the old (and still prevailing) premise of geographically concentrated work forces.
