As a fellow home-owner, I understand the challenges; it was hard enough to budget in the new heat pump after our old one “died” unexpectedly in the middle of a heat wave (here in the deep south, those can happen at any time of the year). Looking for an energy efficient model that we could also afford was a true joy–bearing in mind we were a bit rushed. The results have been worth it as our power bill dropped remarkably; but it takes effort and dedicataion to pursue changes for appliances and fixtures that aren’t “broken”. Keep up the good work.

Add my husband and myself. My parents live with us. So now you understand why the need for a larger house?
At least we are trying to make it more energy efficient and with our latest green repairs, I think we’re reaching our goal.

That would be a 5 bath home? To “lower your carbon footprint” you would need to get a house that is more efficient in heating and cooling, and not quite so large.
