As a fellow home-owner, I understand the challenges; it was hard enough to budget in the new heat pump after our old one “died” unexpectedly in the middle of a heat wave (here in the deep south, those can happen at any time of the year). Looking for an energy efficient model that we could also afford was a true joy–bearing in mind we were a bit rushed. The results have been worth it as our power bill dropped remarkably; but it takes effort and dedicataion to pursue changes for appliances and fixtures that aren’t “broken”. Keep up the good work.

That would be a 5 bath home? To “lower your carbon footprint” you would need to get a house that is more efficient in heating and cooling, and not quite so large.
